Stress activates your sympathetic nervous system, which is our fight or flight response, how we subconsciously or automatically respond to situations.

Being under stress over a long period of time can cause your body to be knocked out of physiological balance which causes you to lose sleep and it can affect how well your immune system works.

There is a concept in psychology which refers to an individual’s belief system which is developed by our experiences in life and how we control situations that we come up against. This so called ‘Locus control’, which means how much control over these situations we have.
